Serve the City

We love Saint Paul and are honored that we get to do ministry right in the heart of the Twin Cities. Here is some more information about what is going on in our city and the larger metro area:

Saint Paul

LiveMSP has this to say about our city:

Known for its rolling topography along the Mississippi, tight-knit neighborhoods, and beautifully preserved historic landmarks, Saint Paul has been nicknamed the City of Neighborhoods and the City of Seven Hills. The state’s capital is home to over 287,000 residents, 160 parks, a network of bike trails and walking paths, and Summit Avenue—the longest remaining stretch of residential Victorian architecture in the nation. Saint Paul ranks third in the nation for its number of 4+ year higher education institutions per capita; is home to many large financial and health care-sector employers; and boasts a thriving immigrant population that brings vitality and culinary splendors to many city neighborhoods.

When it comes to nightlife, Saint Paul specializes in the authentic neighborhood pub/bar scene. Dozens of popular locales bring in visitors from across the cities to enjoy local brews, delicious food, live music, and a friendly atmosphere. Sports fans throng to the Xcel Center for Minnesota Wild hockey games and to Midway Stadium to enjoy a homespun Saint Paul Saints baseball game. The city’s numerous theaters and Ordway Center for the Performing arts bring the symphony, opera, dance, music, and theatrical performance to thousands of people every year.

Saint Paul is known for its great retail-oriented streets. On Grand Avenue, Selby Avenue, Ford Parkway, and West Seventh, you can find scores of independent businesses, diverse restaurants, and other neighborhood services. University Avenue, Suburban Avenue, and Sunray Mall are home to many larger retailers too.

Minneapolis

LiveMSP has this to say about our neighbor across the river:

Taking its name from the Dakota word for water and the Greek word for city, Minneapolis, the City of Lakes (22 of them to be exact), truly combines the best of city excitement with stunning natural beauty. With more than 380,000 residents, Minneapolis is the larger of the Twin Cities and is also home to over 170 parks. In fact, every resident lives within six blocks of one! The city is home to the 50-mile Grand Rounds National Scenic Byway (the nation’s premier urban scenic byway), award-winning restaurants and arts venues, and gleaming modern architecture that houses Fortune 500 companies and civic institutions.

You’ll find nightlife options that span the spectrum from glimmering dance clubs to neighborhood dive bars, from Broadway performances to the Fringe Festival, and from bowling alleys to major league sports. Dining in Minneapolis is just as diverse. Whether you want a casual meal in a neighborhood bistro or a fancy dinner at a nationally-acclaimed restaurant, you’ll find it in the City of Lakes.

Minneapolis is home to dozens of neighborhood retail areas and commercial corridors—where you can find unique shops, local restaurants, and all kinds of services.
